Shamanism is believed to be the oldest spiritual practice in the world. The word shaman is translated to mean “one who knows”. The person practicing shamanism (the shaman), is capable of interacting with Spirit or spiritual energies to direct healing in the physical world. In particular, shamans are said to treat ailments by mending the soul. By alleviating traumas affecting the soul or spirit, it is believed to restore the physical body back to balance and wholeness. Overall, the shaman operates in the spiritual realm to positively influence the human world. 

 

Reiki is a Japanese word that means “universal life force” and is a system that was developed by Mikao Usui. He was first exposed to the idea of Reiki while studying the Buddhist religious text, Tantra of the Lightning Flash. Usui was later inspired by the story of Jesus Christ and sought to learn how The Christ was able to perform miraculous healings with the just the touch of the hands. He came to understand that The Christ was a clear conduit of life force energy that flowed directly from the Source of Creation. In his journey to emulate The Christ, Usui experienced profound insights about energy healing that formed the practice he called Reiki.

My approach to energy hand healing incorporates concepts of Shamanism, Reiki, and other skills I’ve acquired along my path. The session occurs seated across from one anther but later may require you to lay on the healing table to advance the process. A session typically starts with shamanic invocation to call in Spirit for guidance and to set the sacred space (sage, palo santo, rattling, sacred song). Next we engage in spiritual counsel to expose the traumas and any limiting energies. From here we may begin breath work to activate the energy channels and to deepen the meditative healing state. Next I will place my hands on or near your body (with your consent) in attempt to move energy. The session continues as I direct the five elements (air, earth, ether, fire, water) through your hands and fingers to prime your body with the necessary ingredients. And if called to do so, Akashic energy is embedded in your third eye (Ajna Chakra) to guide you towards a pathway of love, joy, and peace. The session concludes when your fields are balanced and sealed. The integration of new energies will continue well after the session.
